Taken on Ricoh Cx6

Slime Mould?

Revival!

Cabin fever was setting in by late afternoon so I dashed out to my local bolt-hole at Priory CP when the sun finally appeared.

Watched the day close over main lake.

Bloody-nosed Beetle

A couple of Bloody-nosed Beetles Timarcha tenebricosa were found at Totternhoe Quarry on the Butterfly Conservation work-party today by Charles or Peter. I spotted them staring at something and went to investigate. The beetles had been mating until I arrived with a camera.

We also saw a Brimstone on a couple of occasions.

Bee Mimic Hoverfly

My first Eristalis pertinax of the year, on Prunus blossom at Priory Country Park today. It then landed on top of my head! (My second identified hoverfly of the year, the first being Episyrphus balteatus on New Year's Day!)
